Nashville Fencing Academy is a USFA member club dedicated to modern sport fencing. The club is exclusively an Epee club. Fencing is currently a rapidly expanding sport offering competitive opportunites for people of all ages. Age brackets run from Youth class (Y10, Y12, Y14) to Veteran (Over 40). Staff
Coach Doug Harris has a degree in coaching from the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs Colorado. He is also Certified by the United States Fencing Coaches Association. He has studied extensively with Maestro Les Stawicki, a former Polish National Team coach. Coach Harris has coached students on US National Teams and the World Military Team. His students have won over 60 national medals and are regularly in the national point standings.
Coach Harris grew up in Charlotte NC and started fencing in college.
He moved to Nashville in 1991, seeing a need for a private fencing club, he continued his coaching education and opened The Nashville Fencing Academy in the spring of 1995. Doug Harris is also a board certified massage therapist specializing in sports massage.
Recommended for second semester 3rd graders and above.
